Food is supposed to give you energy… if you eat and get sleepy, then something is wrong… not with your diet necessarily, but in the way you are going about producing energy…

To produce energy, the formula is simple…

#1 Hydrate

#2 Boost your vitamin D levels

#3 Nourish

When you design a diet around these 3 principles, then you have what I call a minimalistic diet…

A minimalistic diet to me is simply the bare minimum that should be in your diet to make sure you are maintaining a strong, healthy microbiome… my entire concept of Beer Diet Project is about growing probiotics, and a minimalistic diet is the foundation…

For Energy Bootcamp I emphasize hydration and vitamin D levels because eating foods that give you energy will do you no good if you can’t digest and absorb nutrients…

Hydration and vitamin D levels is how you improve digestion and absorption…

This is the test…

Eating foods that contain nutrients like NAD+ & CoEnzyme Q10 is like flipping a switch to the ‘ON’ position…

If your batteries are charged, then flipping the switch will allow you to use that energy…

That means that if you nourish and feel energy, then everything is working fine…

… but if you nourish and don’t feel energy, then it’s not the food that isn’t working, it’s your digestive system that isn’t working…

To improve digestion you’ll need to detox, but you shouldn’t start to detox unless you can produce energy…

This can sometimes be challenging if you are doing everything I share in [Energy Bootcamp] and don’t see progress… we’ll troubleshoot the most common issues and then begin to detox…

Phase two of the Beer Diet Project journey is about detoxing… to detox we rely primarily on plant based foods and fasting… before starting a detox you should do a minimum of 4 weeks of a minimalistic diet to ensure you have the raw materials to produce energy…

Here’s what a minimalistic diet looks like for me… if you look through my kitchen, here’s what you’ll find…

Animal based minimalistic diet…

#1 One gallon of mineralized water to hydrate throughout the day

#2 Bone broth to break your fast and beef organs to nourish

#3 Fermented cod liver oil + butter oil for vitamin D

#4 Ground beef + avocado + sauerkraut for dinner…

Plant based minimalistic diet…

#1 Three quarts of mineralized water to hydrate throughout the day

#2 One quart of blue green algae + CoEnzyme Q10 to nourish

#3 15 minutes of sun exposure or plant based vitamin D3

#4 Coconut lemon cooler as my source of healthy fat to break my fast

Is this all I eat?

Some days yes, that’s all my food intake… but the main point is that that’s the bare minimum… I can eat more if I choose to, but I don’t need to because that gives me all the nourishment I need, it helps me maintain my vitamin D levels, and I stay hydrated…

A minimalistic diet is simple… the requirements are that it helps you get these 3 things…

#1 Hydration

#2 Vitamin D

#3 Nourishment

Reminder… health is a skill… I eat one meal a day because I’ve been doing this for 10+ years… you are not supposed to be able to do what I do unless you train and go through all 3 phases of the Beer Diet Project journey… you may need to eat 3 meals a day when starting out… if you have gut issues, and never fasted, you may even be thinking something like “I could not eat just one meal a day, that’s crazy”…

It’s okay… you don’t have to fast… just know that when you nourish your body, you don’t get hungry because you are nourished… if you are constantly hungry and can’t even fathom the idea of skipping a meal thinking you’ll die of hunger, then that is a clear sign that you are malnourished… you can’t just start detoxing and fasting if you are malnourished… you have to nourish first… when you do, fasting will happen almost naturally because you’ll experience true satiety…

If you are malnourished and try to fast and follow my diet (which is advanced), you’ll probably feel like crap and it could be counterproductive…

If you are nourished, then like me, you’ll find that fasting actually makes you feel better and you’ll enjoy it…

When I say I eat one meal a day, that’s a habit I created, but it doesn’t mean that I don’t have days when I eat more… I can add meals to the minimalistic diet as I see fit… it depends on what I’m looking to accomplish or if I’m experimenting and researching new approaches to diet… sometimes I do keto… sometimes I do nose to tail carnivore… sometimes I go full raw vegan… I can also combine plant based and animal based foods… the point is that no matter what, everyday I make sure I do something to improve my hydration, vitamin D and that I nourish my body… that’s what a minimalistic diet is all about…

If you do a minimalistic diet and you feel more energy and better sleep, then you have successfully completed [Energy Bootcamp]…

If you do a minimalistic diet and you don’t feel more energy AND better sleep, then you have to troubleshoot your diet before moving on to phase two where you will begin to detox your body…

Can you combine the 2 minimalist diets? For example plant base can u use cod liver or is it best to remain one or other?

Sounds good. I better get cracken on making some bone broth. I got the bones from that place you suggested in AZ. Can’t wait to try. Luckily, I just found a similar ranch near me…FINALLY!!! Been looking for years, it’s so hard to find good quality beef in Texas and it’s such a shame because we are surrounded by beef here!

I love incorporating healthy fats into diet to get more energy! Especially bone broth.
Its helpful to have the forewarning that we can experience turbulence in our body when we go through making changes, its not all bad but to understand that if we keep consistent we can get success over time. HABITS!

I like to alternate with plant based and animal based… I feel like there is a wider variety of options with animal based healthy fats. Plus bone broth is just amazing.

More meat for energy and more plant for mental calm focus.
