When most people think of doing a detox, they often think that they are going to be taking some herbs or some sort of product to cleanse…
… and while that can be a detox, here at Beer Diet Project we think of detoxing as cleaning the body…
That doesn’t necessarily mean we need to take some sort of herb or product to “clean”…
The purpose of doing a detox is simply to clean and sanitize the inside of your body…
Just like you take a shower everyday (maybe?)… you should look int cleaning the inside of your body everyday…
The cleaner your body is, the leaner it will be…
Your body produces body fat as a way to protect itself from toxic waste… so the less toxicity in your body the less need for body fat you will have…
This is how I was able to lean down and get a toned body…
There’s 3 ways you can go about detoxing your body…
#1 Start with the foods you eat day in and day out
#2 Look into fasting
#3 Herbs & cleanses
Think about this…
Why would you take some herbs and “clean” your body if you plan on eating junk food again?
That would be pointless..
Many people may not necessarily be planning to eat junk food after a cleanse… the issue is more along the lines that they don’t even know that the foods they are eating aren’t good…
Most people can not tell the difference between good & bad food…
Food should give you energy…
To give you energy it needs to come from mineralized & nutrient rich soils which are possible through regenerative farming practices…
The source of your food is just one aspect to help you determine if it’s good or not…
Another aspect is to look into preparation methods…
One of my favorite foods is bone broth… Usually when people hear me say bone broth, they go to the store, grab a boxed liquid broth and think they are getting the same thing I’m talking about… but that’s not the case…
The bone broth I’m referring to, is made using high quality ingredients from grass fed, grass finished cows raised using regenerative farming practices…
In addition to coming from a good source, it is made using a traditional method that takes 48-72 hours to extract the nutrients from marrow rich bones which gives the bone broth a gelatin or jello like consistency…
Most commercial or store bought broth stays liquid when you put it in the fridge which tells you it doesn’t have the nutrients you are looking for from bone broth… and store bought broths are often high in sodium…
What does this have to do with detoxing??
Well… the first step to detoxing is to power on your mitochondria function and use your body’s natural cleansing system to push toxic waste out of the cells…
To do that, you need to nourish the cells of your body and most store bought food isn’t giving your the nutrients you need…
… most importantly… if you are eating foods that lack nutrients then that is what I consider “toxic” food…
The less nutrients it has, the more toxic it is… and more likely that it needs some sort of food preservative which are also toxic…
Once you have a handle on your diet, then you can start to detox using my favorite method… fasting…
It costs nothing and saves you a lot of time and money by keeping you out of the kitchen…
When you enter the fasted state, your body turns on its own cleansing system…
It’s through the fasted state that your body cleans itself out…
I personally have been intermittent fasting since I started my journey back in 2012…
Even if you only do a couple hours a day… when you do it everyday it adds up… I do about 6 hours of intermittent fasting…
If your body is too toxic to do any fasting, then you’ll want to start by cleaning up your diet first and lowering your toxicity levels until you can incorporate fasting into your lifestyle…
Then comes herbs and other products…
One of the first products I used to detox is oxypowder…
This is a gut cleanser that removes built up junk from your intestines…
Products like this are only needed if you haven’t followed a good diet… and especially if you’ve dealt with gut issues like gas, bloating, or constipation…
… that makes it more likely that your gut has built up junk that needs to be removed… that is a huge source of toxicity for your body and housing for bad bacteria in your gut…
I think of detoxing in layers…
First you want to remove the bulk of the bad stuff in your gut…
Then you want to ease into herbs starting with mild detoxes first which is what we use for our energy jumpstart kit…
The biggest thing to understand is that when you start to take herbs to detox, you will be moving toxins around that that’s why it’s important that you first help your body get energy and good sleep so it can recover…
As you help your body get more energy and clean it up, you’ll be able to do more aggressive detoxing as needed…
Start out mild and build up from there…
