How to sleep better and feel better...

If you have a hard time falling or staying asleep then read this...

I used to feel tired all the time... you'd think I'd sleep a lot, but I would toss and turn all night... wake up and walk like a zombie...

If I went to the grocery store I'd feel like I had ran a marathon...

I needed to plan a nap after doing simple things like that...

All I wanted was to wake up and feel good...

I was physically and mentally exhausted...

Felt like I was 84 living in a 28 year old body...

Doctors would say "there's nothing wrong with you..."

... but I didn't feel normal...

One of the biggest breakthroughs I had was when I started learning about vitamin D...

It was interesting because when I asked about getting tested, they didn't want to test me... apparently it wasn't going to tell them anything...

... but I insisted and I found I was low in vitamin D...

Here's where I started to do things a little different...

Most people, when I ask them about their vitamin D levels they either don't know or they proudly tell me that they are already taking a vitamin D supplement... 

5,000 IU's daily...

Some are taking crazy high amounts like 50,000 IU's...

... but the question is "is your body getting the vitamin D it needs?"...

Taking vitamin D alone is not enough...

Your body must uptake that vitamin D... 

... and your body must be able to use that vitamin D...

How do you measure that?

Many people will say that their vitamin D levels are okay, but if you have a hard time falling or staying asleep, then you may want to look into how you are going about raising your vitamin D levels...

... because when I started to improve my vitamin D levels I started to get deep restorative sleep...

I would wake up and feel good, well rested, ready to take on the day...

I didn't use supplements to raise my vitamin D...

I used food and sunshine exposure... 

Vitamins are made through the fermentation process... you need probiotics for fermentation...

If you have gut issues, then you are likely to become deficient in vitamins and nutrients because you lack probiotics...

Or you may have bad bacteria that can steal these nutrients from you...

One of the best foods for vitamin D production is cod liver oil... but you need a healthy gut to make vitamin D out of it...

I didn't have a healthy gut when I started...

In fact, vitamin D is directly correlated to the health of your gut... 

80% of your immune system is your gut flora...

The higher your vitamin D, the stronger your immune system...

Low vitamin D means a weaker immune system...

Many hormones are produced in your gut... 

Melatonin, the sleeping hormone, is produced in your gut...

When I understood this, I started to work on my vitamin D...

I started taking fermented cod liver oil + butter oil because "fermented" means that it's already been digested and vitamins have been created...

The more I improved my vitamin D, the better my sleep got and I started feeling better...
